Welcome!! Any question you have, you can probably find a post about it in the archives, or just ask away and someone will steer you to an answer.

Julidocromis, I'm just curious about your username. That's a type of African cichlid, isn't it?

Yep, a friend of mine, an aquariophil (huhu dunno the word in english) freak, told me about it years ago as a very special fish) with intersting behaviour and when I joined the board it comes from my deepest memory and thought was a right choice :)

Here's a page of Julidochromis profiles, in English along with pictures..........

None of those Julidochromis profiles are especially complete, but Cichlids in general and (from what I'm told) Tanganyikan cichlids in particular, certainly do have their own personalities. They beg, sulk, tease, get angry, etc. Cichlids can be challenging to raise as aquarium fish due to their quick aggressive nature, but if an aquarist (what you were calling aquariphile) gets a tank to behave together, the results can be truly stunning.

If you're interested in lurking a fish board and perhaps learning a bit more about Julidochromis and similar cichlids, there's a forum here (English again)

A friend of mine used to breed and raise cichlids - he went on an expedition to Africa to help capture wild ones and that's the main reason he got certified! Of course now diving is his main passion and he's got rid of all his fishtanks except his best one! LOL
