Hi divers,

Got the bug and got certified the end of August. I've logged about 16 dives so far (all in the PA. quarry) and am working on getting my skills honed before trying to do a wreck. So, I'm hoping that by spring that I'll feel confident to dive a wreck in the waters off NJ.

Found this site and think it's a "keeper". So, a shout out to all and you'll probably see me posting here.

:wavey: Ahoy from NJ, Fran! Good to meet you!

Welcome to the board!

Joe

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!

Practicing skills in the quary is great, but there's a long step to diving wrecks in the ocean. Maybe AOW & Nitrox training, and some easier wrecks dives, perhaps? Like down in Morehead City NC, where they have a lot of advanced wreck dives, but one easier wreck dive for real boat & ocean practice.

Sizing a photo for your profile or Avatar can be a challenge; I'm a fumbling amateur, but I get the job done, if you'd like any help? PM me if I can help you learn your way around; that is - click my username to the upper left, then follow the prompts to send me a "Personal Message." :thumb:

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

I like your enthusiasm!

Of course, you may want to get some wreck training before trying that. Spend some time in the Wreck Diving section of our Tek Talk forum to find more info.

Also check out our Wreck Valley forum to see what our ScubaBoard members are up to in your local area.

Dive safe!

Christian

P.S. Due to the high volume of new posts in the Introductions and Greets forum, it's not always possible to keep up with all the new posts here. So, please help me out and send me a PM if you post anything you want me to read or repsond to in this forum.

Hi there and welcome to ScubaBoard! :dazzler1:

Hi and welcome to ScubaBoard! What quarry have you been diving in? Dutch Springs is the one we know ofaround here. Have dove there a couple of times myself. Check out the WreckValley diving forum for local area people.

Welcome!
Hope you stay with the board and use it for all it's worth!
I agree, it is a keeper!
Now for my stock message, which is underconstruction:
This is a great place to meet people, talk about diving, and get information on just about any aspect of diving -or other subjects sometimes- that you can think of. Roaming therough the forums is great help for me.
When you post a question, be as sure as you can that it's in the right forum or you'll probably find it moved.
The folks here are passionate about their diving, some about their specialty, so the reading can get very interesting, sometimes very hot.
Don't forget, if you haven't already done it, to fill out you profile as completely as reasonable, it'll save you being asked and having to repeat the information often.
Enjoy!

Tom

CaptSaaz, yes it is Dutch that I've been practicing at along with my "buddy" who took the OW course with me. I've also checked out Wreck Valley and find it a good site too along with NJScuba.com Next spring, I'm wanting to go along with the LDS to do some "introduction to wreck diving". Hopefully, AOW and Nitrox will be before that.
