As a new member of ScubaBoard, want to extend greetings and more importantly thanks to the members who welcomed this Texas boy at the recent Wrinkles event in Laguna Beach. I believe it was Christian, Seth and Steve who took me out on my first night dive. Although I have to admit being a little nervous, (my first dive in the ocean being only a few hours earlier!) your patience and instruction was most appreciated. Anytime you find yourself in San Antonio, the Bar-B-Q and drinks are on me. Paul

Hey Dash (or Paul), welcome to ScubaBoard. I see you have already met some of our friendly SoCal people. Nice to hear you did some good ocean dives and a night dive to boot. I've yet to do a night dive, how was it? What did you see?

Woo hoo!!! Party in San Antonio------ BBQ and free (that's FREE ) drinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:jump013: Welcome to SB!;)

David, Thanks for your gracious welcome. The night dive was awesome. Have just done one but I'm hooked and look forward to the next night dive. Regarding what I saw on the dive, I am sure my eyes were wide enough to have no problem seeing UW in the dark, aside from rays, guitar fish, starfish, honestly cannot ID very much of what I saw that night. Nonetheless, it was all good.

I've known Christian/Headhunter for over a year, but have not yet had the pleasure of meeting him, much less diving with him. Sounds like y'all had a good one!!

I'll be arriving San Antonio Sunday for a few days, but with my daughter's family or I'd hit you up to do the Bar-B-Q by proxy. :D

PM me if I can help you find your way here...

Hey Paul!

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

It was great meeting you and your fellow Texans! :D

While we don't "do it up" like one of those world renown Texas BBQ, I hope you got plenty to eat at the SoCal Wrinkles BBQ.

I'll take you up on that offer if I get to San Antonio. You'll have to make it back out here sometime too. From what you all told me, our water is clearer (even if we thought conditions were awful), so that's always a good excuse!

By the way, you looked pretty comfortable on that night dive and in the ocean.

Dive safe!

Christian

Hey Christian,

Thanks again for everything. You SoCal guys know how to do it right. Regarding your comment on my appearance at the night dive, reminds me of Pink Floyd's "comfortably numb"...with fear!

And thanks Don for your offer of assistance. On the Bar-B-Q proxy offer, you and I both know bar-b-q and beer in TX is like hambergers and fries. Good but nothing special if you live in TX.

Aww, I don't guess I eat BBQ more than once a week, maybe twice. :cowboy:

But it was cool!

Our monthly Wrinkles Dives are always open to anyone around the globe who wants to show up. If I remember correctly, we've had people there from as far as Brazil and France. Of course, the way I remember things it was probably Mexico and Canada, but the point is that we love to show out-of-towners a good time. ;)
