OK - now THAT would probably work! Of course, if I get that icy it might affect my ability to keep my regulator in my mouth when my teeth are chattering!

That's it folks... keep encouraging Sapphire to get wet here. Although the beauty of the kelp forest is aesthetically different from that of the coral reefs, there is much to see here.

In my past four dives in Catalina waters (yesterday and the day before) I saw a black sea bass, bat rays feeding and stirring the sand up so much visibililty was zero, several incredible schools of jack mackerel, many sheep crabs both male and female (but none mating), southern kelp crab, garibaldi males establishing territory and building nexts for their sweeties, an unusual Navanax, a beautiful Chromodoris nudibranch, etc., etc.

Besides, Sapphire... you can always dive dry and warmer (so they tell me... I'm a confirmed wetsuit diver until I hit Antarctica).
