I have been away from the New England area for thirty years so I am curious what ever happened to New England Divers. I was first certified there in 1966. Do they still exist?

Were you part of New England Divers up in Beverly?

New England Divers moved from water st in Beverly to right off 128 in danvers, then they then split up. Many of the staff starting their own shops . if you go to where the origanal store was you will find Under sea divers ( an x-NE Divers employee) .

New England Divers was started by Jim Cahill in 1952 the 2nd dive shop in New England. He was a just got out of the navy,he was a U.D.T frogman.I talk with him now and then,he lives in FL.They sold N.E.Divers in the late 70's or early 80's.Then lateron, the company went out of business. They were one of the biggest in the country at one time.I have a New England Divers two hose reg, with there emblem.Cool looking.Hope this helps, later Mike.

Got my OW cert from Bill Smith at New England Divers in 1973. A great shop and a great memory. Did the OW checkout on the Beverly shore, with almost zero viz and froze my butt off. Almost freaked out when I saw a stingray. Those were the days! Now a cave diver/Trimix in Florida, almost 40 years later.
