New Diver visiting New Smyrna in August...

Looking for a dive buddy and a good place to go diving. I am already planning the EPCOT divequest mainly to say I've done it, but am looking for another chance to get wet. I realize it is the opening of Lobster season (I will be there between 8/6 and 8/13) and I contacted Sea Dog divers in New Smyrna, but since I am newly certified I am not sure their boat during the first week of lobster season will be a good idea.

Other ideas?

If you do decide to try Sea Dogs you might want to schedule the dive with a DM. I'm not sure how new you are, but the dives in DB are normally wreck dives and there can be some current. Try Red at Bluewaterdiving.com. He is a local DM.

Thanks for the tip. I may try that. (I'm really new, as in my OW cert dives are this weekend. Day 1 down Day 2 tomorrow)
