Another vote for HP130s, especially if (as your interest in fundies makes possible) you see doubles in your future.

I vote for the HP 120. Plenty of air to stay out of trouble or get yourself into it. Try to borrow a friends tank if you can find someone with a pair. They typically go for around $200 on eBay or Craigslist.

Actually, I'd change my recommendation, if the OP were looking at double tanks any time soon. The HP100 is an ideal tank to double up -- enough gas for T1 dives, and not so heavy and massive as to make managing them on land a pain.

Depending on how his 6' 210lbs frame is composed, I would think the 112 or so lb weight of a double set of filled HP130s shouldn't be an issue. Between a full set of double 100s and double 130s, the dry land weight difference is what, 20lbs? The capacity difference is 62cf or so, however.

I am demoing a 100 and a 119 on Sunday, just got that all set up. I am looking to move to doubles at sometime in the future but not until I have the experience to do so.

Dr. Lecter I am looking to play college football next fall as a linebacker. to give an idea of my frame.

Ha, yes, I doubt you'd have problems with double 130s :D

Go with 130's. Unless your favorite dive boat has those cylindrical tank holders that won't fit them and you plan to only dive with them because they're like family etc etc. I have 120's and love them, but will be picking up 130's as I'd rather have the extra width than height for boat riding and land lugging. I'm also a larger guy 6'1' 190, more of a wide out though. If you're going doubles your going tech and that means you have plenty of money to spend on extra tanks as well.

If we are talking abojt worthington hp100 they are aweful for 6' people.
PSTs are better as they are longer.

I have HP100 and HP130. The HP130 are humongous for hiking to dive spots. Also no sense in having a large tank if none of your buddies have a large tank. If others in your group have Al80's it will be a waste to surface each time with an HP130. I purchase two HP130's so my buddy can use one. The HP100 is an ideal tank for me when diving with others using Al80's. Can take 4-5 pounds off belt and plenty of air.

and the winner is... a 119

The 120 was too tall for me, felt like I was leg heavy and I also do quite a bit of shore diving and getting smacked by the bottom of a tank every step is not my idea of fun

130 would have been an awesome tank however I was able to get a 7 month old 119 at a hell of a deal. I am on a student style budget here.

Wanted a little more gas than a 100 for dives such as the Yukon and Ruby E.

Eventually when I do want to double up, I've heard that 119's can make a pretty sweet set so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions
