Hey all!!
This is my first post and I'm loving Scubaboard so.
I live in Southern Ontario, Canada and am looking to purchase gear.
Question is do I need a cold water/sealed reg and octo for Lake Ontario?
I was also looking at the Sherwood Avid bc as well as the Tortuga. Does anyone have any opinions on either?

I live in toronto and have a brand new sherwood avid bc size L/xL
It fits me , I am 6ft , weigh 210 lbs, I bought It as a spare late last year, but
I like my older tusa b/c . they sell for 350-500 cdn
all i want is my money back $225.00 us This is a New 2004 model still in package.

As far as the reg goes I would suspect that you should have something that would perform well in cold environments.

What is the average water temperature that you dive?

Living in Canada...assuming your going to be doing local diving...yes, I would get a regulator that is designed for that environment (cold water). Even if you only plan to dive sparingly on the local level...and dive warm water for the most part, I would get a reg that meets ALL your needs. You can always use a cold water reg in Cozumel, but you cant always use a warm water reg in Lake Ontario in January..

Dive rite 2500 with ice kits. and if you can do a back plate in wings used for single tanks and a STA. Diving in the great Lakes you might want to go tech some day and you will be half way there with this set up.
