Bob3:
You guys are making me drool... stop that or I'll have to break out the Saran Wrap. ;)

I have been in the market for wings for a while now and could not make up my mind. A few guys went up to the show and tried these things on and have not stopped talking about them since. They said they had the salesman hanging on the back of the pack and all the weight was in the hips, and they could not feel it. Our shop just put in an order for the store, for 3 of them (w 50's). My mind was made up. I ordered the W100 with 2 weight pouches and 4 d rings. The price was a bit high but i think worth the money for the poseidon name and the reviews i have heard thus far.

Prices are as follows...
W50 - $835
W100 - $875
D100 (Dual Bladder) - $1100

Weight pouches - Approx. $60
D Rings with mounting hardware - $12

Hope this answers some questions!

I just got the updated price sheet a couple days ago, & have heard the first batch is on its way to the US for an expected 1 April release.
The W40 retails at $355, and there looks to be a lot of different ways a person can customize the critters with the various pockets, d-rings, etc.
I'll be ordering up some within the next week or so & will post some pics.

Just saw some BeSeas at the Koni Investment (dive Rite/Poseidon) booth at ADEX 2005 in Bangkok. Honestly, they don’t look so great in real life—very bulky and complicated; does not seem to offer much advantage (apart from above-water comfort) over a traditional BP/wing.

Last night I spoke with the owner of the shop I work for. He saw and tried on the Besea at the Beneath the sea expo. He said that it is one of the most interesting BC's he has seen. The build quality was top notch as one would expect from Poseidon.

Although he personallyis not a fan of a wing, he felt that these designs might warrant a try out.

I am still waiting on pricing.

Michael

What is complicated about the besea...kinda simple to me, just got it april 1st and is not bulky or complicated, kinda simple once the thing is fitted and assemble. By far the most comfortable harness/wings i have ever worn.

Might as well buy a wing and get the extra benefit of the weighted BP. Everything else looks the same. I guess they must have a bunch a divers that hike 40miles before they get to the water with all that padding???

It is bulky and complicated IMHO, especially compared to a BP/wing setup. I am not disputing the fact that the BeSea is very comfortable—I see that you have chosen the BeSea as your BC and it was not my intention to “dis” your purchase decision.

BTW, if anyone in Thailand is interested in the BeSea and missed seeing one at ADEX, Zcuba Tech (Sukhumvit 79), tel: 0-2740-3693, have a few in stock.

Oh i know you meant no harm in it, was just curious about what you meant. I am actually thinking about purchasing the bp to install in the besea to counteract the 4 lbs +buoyancy, and to add some more rigidity for when i switch to doubles with a stage.
