Tech Admin,

There seem to be times since you moved to your new host when ScubaBoard is running painfully slow.

This morning has been one of those times. Sometimes it's taking 30 seconds or longer for a page to come up.

I ran a trace to determine if it was my connection or if I could find a bad router along the way. The numbers actually look pretty good except for the 205 ms and 257 ms at 12.96.160.49. Even that's not bad enough to cause the kind of delay I've been seeing.

I've pasted the results of my trace below, just in case they help you in some way.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but just wanted to let you know that one exists (from where I sit anyway). For all I know, I'm the only one.

No, not at all. I'm not one to talk much here, as I figure my AOL dial-up, over the counter laptop must be much of the problem, and then there's operator error to consider as I really don't know what's going on.

However, the reaction time here is much slower than on one other board I rarely visit. Nothing like the great service we did have? The Spyware & Adaware that Tech Admin suggested Sunday took care of another, unrelated problem, but this is still dragging... :11:

thanks for everything, though - it's still a wonderful board, and many of realize that your touch is a large part of it!

Don may be on dial-up, but I'm on DSL and get a consistent 1200 - 1300 k on my downloads and about 200+ on my uploads.

I'm not sure why it is so slow for me.

Have to admit the loading has still been slow the last couple of days, including today and the 1/2 hour prior to this post. I'm cable, with my download just clocked at 2248 kilobits per second, about average. Two traces below (scubaboard.com and divedomain.com)

This past week I've gotten several time outs while attempting to move through the board, this hadn't happened before and I still don't experience it in other locations.
I believe I have a T1 connection.

Not sure if you actually saw my post above before, but I'm still experiencing the same delay and decided to run another trace.

This one came out with decent numbers all the way down. So it looks like the problem may not be in the network, since I still have to wait a long time for pages to load. I'm not experiencing this on any other sites that I've tried.

I've been pretty consistently having delays since about a week after you changed over to the new host. At the beginning when you first made the switch, things were quite a bit faster. I'm not sure if you've been trying to optimize your servers, but I'm assuming that something changed.
