I was wondering if anyone has used a Netti Pot? Last spring I got my first Sinus infection and yep once again I got another one this spring.

I have heard some folks say that they think it works...but everyone I was talking to had only been using one for a short time... so I was wondering if anyone had other experiences.

I have one, but I don't use it because I don't have any sinus problems.
When I had allergies I was doing saline and some Chinese herbs from the acupuncturist.

They are brilliant. I have *** sinuses and persistent post nasal drip. I use recycled water bottles as Neti Pots. Mix 1/8-1/4 tsp salt and the same amount of baking soda per liter (qt) of water.

I rinse my sinuses every few days if I'm not sick, several times a day if I am. Use liberally.

Hi KazooDiver,

Haven't tried the device myself as I have no sinonasal issues. However, I have a number of sane and sober dive buddies who do use it and swear by its efficacy.

Nasal irrigation using a hypotinic saline solution is well know to be effective in easing sinonasal reactions.

so does a swim in rough seas.
Not many surfers need netti pots...

When I need it, nothing else works better!
I prefer to use 78F ocean water, direct from the source. A partially flooded mask and then going inverted does a pretty good rinse. Sometimes I'll even do it on purpose. :)

Joking aside, I do have pretty bad pollen allergies and sinus headaches. Frequent diving virtually eliminates the problems due to the frequent, usually inadvertant, rinsing out of sinuses.

Works like a charm for me, I have a history of ear and sinus issues. I use it for a few days (2x/day) before I dive. I found on my Catalina trip that enough time in the salt water has the same effect :D. I have had issues clearing my ears but my "magic genie pot" combined with some Allegra-D or 12 hour Sudafed, and some Afrin really does the trick.
