On my Belize 2007 Pilot trip there was talk about a third Swath vessel. Nekton's crew told us plans were submitted to the USCG a few years ago. I can't imagine the costs involved to build a new vessel of Swath design. Folks were are talking millions & millions of dollars here. I understand the engines running both the Pilot & Rorqual are leased because they are worth about a million each! The engineer told me last year to replace the door on the Rorqual's salon was around $4,000. The cost is high because it must comply with marine regulations.

Nekton's best advertising is their regular customers.:14:

Now, I am going on the Rorqual NW Bahamas trip Sept 15, 2007 with only six divers booked.

But, I also decided to book the following trip to Cay Lobos on Sept 22, 2007 with eleven divers.

We need more divers on both trips!

I think that's because it's low season in the Caribbean for many people. Summer vacation is over, kids are just back in school and potential hurricanes. Are prices lower during those weeks ?

I'm booked December 8-15. Price was $300 cheaper than other weeks. Apparently, the weeks in between Thanksgiving and Christmas are very low for tourism. I was able to snag frequent flier tickets too.

It would be nice if Nekton provided a nice t-shirt to each customer. This could be used as advertizing if designed properly. I am even willing to pay for them. :) The three button golf shirts are nice but the cost ($55.00) is to high for most folks.

To be honest their shirts are ugly.

I woundn't wear the current ones if they were free!

Oh, I am talking about a totally new designed t-shirt for their customers. As stated in my previous post.

Too funny - I agree with Deputy Dan - I have one of their shirts - dont wear it. Truly ugly design. Bought a shirt last Nekton trip from Eden Rock dive shop on Cayman - great shirt, wear it all the time. Don't know why they can't fix this - their shirts etc are awful.

I called Nekton to make my final payment for Belize Dec 8-15 trip. Found out there are only 3 divers booked my week.

I was hoping I'd get my own cabin, but only 3 guests will be weird. Hopefully more divers will book.

Hey, I shoot video and usually give my videos away for FREE to people I meet on the boat.

I've got the Polo. Don't see what's ugly about it, it's just a blue Polo with a 3" Pilot below "Nekton Diving Cruises"

I've also got a new Crew shirt from my last trip...let's just say Tyler's a little richer. :)

Agreed. I won the photo contest my week on the Nekton. I try to wear it whenever I can (I'm a little too proud of it I think), but my wife won't let me. If it wasn't a white shirt, she'd probably "accidently" spill some bleach on it.
