after extensive reading we chose the Belmar and set a reservation. they now tell me the pool will be under construction and the decking all being retiled.

We need to change our accomodations as this will not due.

Can anyone suggest an alterantive? DIVI is unavailable, I have read mixed reviews on Buddy Dive (not sure why the contrast in the reviews), Don L has no pool fro mwhat I can see, Sand Dollar does not show a pool either..

We want a clean safe condo/apt with a pool and a drive dive and stay package.

Any advice would be very appreciated.

Many thanks!

I would return to Buddy in a heartbeat. However the mandatory pool suggests that diving is not the focus of the entire party. Buddy has a pool and a few other non diving amenities but it is very diver centric.

Our primary purpose is diving, but my wife likes to relax by the pool when we finish.

Diving first, the rest second.

The pool is nothing too posh but it is near the bar and looked well kept. We were there a year ago next week and it seemed to be getting light use. If it's just a place to stretch out and chill it should be fine.

Why do you suppose some folks write somewhat unflattering reviews of Buddys? I rad some on trip advisor that make me worry a little. Thanks!

Post a link and we'll see how it compares to reality.

One reviewer had a bad room (the roof leaked).

The rest seemed to be about normal.

I liked Buddy's a lot, however the rooms are variable. Some on the ground floor on the same side as the office smell from mold or mildew, which set my allergies off big-time, however the rooms on the other side (by the dive shop and restaturant) were really nice, and they moved us at no charge, which was really wonderful.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Another reviewer complained that the service at the Lions' Den was slow and unfriendly. We never had a problem with unfriendly, and "slow" would seem to be a benefit, since the view from the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Any complaints about "too slow" just mean the poster was in too much of a hurry.

The Lions' Den is on the right behind the breakfast place with the white railing.
