Yes and no. There are two reasons to turn a dive, time or gas. Nova is claiming that time supersedes gas. In otherwords, if you reach your turn time before your turn pressure you still turn the dive.
Agreed. But if I reach my turn pressure before I reach turn time, I turn on pressure and now gas supersedes time. I was just trying to get the point across that novas blanket statement is not a blanket statement. In other words, it doesn't always hold true. I think we are on the same page.

what's MORE critical Jason? time ? or presure ?

My money's on Time

Saying that time should turn the dive in every instance on every dive is downright silly.

no this is silly.

Tic tic tock, time rules the clock, the clock rules the dive, so your butt comes back alive

I.E anyone can dive to 250fsw, only the smart ones come back alive. tic tic tock, it's time to watch a clock. I gotta go diving

What if you find yourself using gas faster than the plan called for?

Do you turn on gas, or continue to the predetermined time?

then your plan is FUBARed

I understand.

I really hate to side with NOVA, but I think I need to here. Most of you guys are missing what he's saying. It's very difficult to plan a dive based on pressure. Think about it, what are tables given in? You don't see PADI publishing PSI tables. What's the NDL for 60 ft, is it a time or a pressure?

Turn pressures play a very important rule in diving but they are secondary to time in the planning process. If we were going to plan a dive what is the first question we'd normally ask? Given my SAC rate if I turn at thirds how much deco do I need to do? Or do you ask, "If I stay down 30 minutes, how much gas do I need"?

Nova, just for the record, this is why said I hate taking your side and why you always feel like the "in club" is against you. When you have a good point to make, instead of putting together a coherent argument you resort to churlish behavoir.

Thank you and thank you again (I think) now I have to look up "churlish behavoir"
