I'm encountering some packing problems for upcoming dive trips. One airline only allows 20 kilos per passenger. 50 pounds is the weight limit for bags on US airlines. United is now charging $25 extra for a second checked bag and I'm afraid that other airlines will follow suit.

Does anyone know of an extra-light bag that is big enough to accommodate dive gear and clothing? I'd prefer one that rolls.

I just got to use one of these bags on a trip to Bonaire. I will have a hrd time trying to convince anybody that there is a better "Lightweight" bag in the market. It is sturdy, easy to roll, and was designed to easily pick up if you hav to.

I googled kona bag several different ways and can't find it. Can you tell me where to look?

The last few trips I've made I've found that I have to split my diving gear up between my Akona roll on gear bag and my suit case, in order to stay under the 50# leach limit. I also carry my computer, cameras, lap top, and as much weight as I can in a backpack, "carry on" as I can (they still don't weigh that!). I find that with 4 of us divers traveling I spend a lot of time weighing and repacking, but except for one puddle jumper to Culebra, Puerto Rico in '05, I've avoided extra weight charges. As they say: rules is rules, but they can to be used for or against you. Know the rules, understand the rules: they say that "you can't fight city hall"; you can't change the rules, but when you know the rules sometimes you can use them against city hall. good luck. Jim

Thank you. I'm looking at the Akona rolling bags.

I'm also looking at the Deep See Travelok 750, but I can't find any reviews for that one. Does anyone own one?

And I'm considering the Deep See Travelok 2000. I find good reviews, but nothing to indicate how much it weighs (empty). Does anyone know?
