If you are heading to the east side, we would be happy to point you in the right direction. From West Palm Beach to Pompano Beach, there is not shortage of great places to dive.

If you have a chance, check out the World Famous Blue Heron Bridge. It is a shallow water dive that is inside the inlet, which is a good alternative if the seas are looking a bit unfriendly. If drift diving is what you are looking for, you can go just about anywhere. To some, the East Coast of South Florida is considered the drift diving capitol of South Florida. The gentle current allows divers to drift along the reef line without expending much energy.

If you are interested in Wreck Diving adventure, then you are in the right place. We have artificial reefs and natural shipwrecks ranging from 15 feet of water too 200 feet. What ever you skill level may be, you will find somewhere to go.

Again, if you find yourself on the east side and need a recommendation, give us a call. We don't have our own boat, but we work with some great ones around here and we would be happy to share our knowledge!

To me the diving is worth the drive. Check out the Jupiter area. Drift diving and/or wreck diving minutes off shore through one of the local charters. JDC Jupiter Dive Center and Emerald come to mind.

I like wearing two hoods when the water is cool. I really like a 3 mm hooded vest and then another hood (over top) with the collar removed so that it does not go under the collar of the suit or restrict head motion.

Yeah, I don't know if it is the layering or just the extra 3 mm I added with the beanie under the hooded vest but a big difference on a
sixty minute dive. I suppose depending on the thickness of the modified hood it might be possible to wear under the hood
of the hooded vest although over might be more convenient when gearing up.

It is the layering with the added neck mobility that makes it so comfortable...over/under.. not sure that makes much difference.. but the beanie with the velcro chin stap would seem easier to adjust and go over the outside more easily. I used to wear a 3 mm hooded vest and then a 5 mm hood when the water is 50 or below.

Hi guys, I'm back in Montreal now and unfortunately I wasn't able to do any diving at all - I was stuck on the west coast with no possibility to dive all of last week. None of the charters were out during the week because of red tide which apparently was pretty bad, causing all sorts of issues - what a bummer. I couldn't get to the east coast because of travelling issues. I'm really thankful to everyone on this thread who tried to help me with great suggestions. Next time I come to south FL I will have some good suggestions before leaving Montreal. Many thanks to everyone for your recommendations and if you are looking to do some some great wreck diving in Lake Ontario, try connecting with me and I will be pleased to show you around. Cheers - dive safely everyone.
