I will be doing Nitrox repetitive recreational dives in warm water. I am interested in Oceanic Pro Plus 2, Uwatec Smartcom, and Suunto Cobra. Any and all help would be appreciated! I believe you need IR unit to change Uwatec's user settings(ie: bar/psi or ft/mt) Any pro/cons??? I do have a Uwatec air z that this will be back up for. Sometimes the wrist unit may not be with me that is why I did not suggest mechanical spg backup. Thanks in advance.

I like the Sherwood Wisdom and it is, as far as I can tell, a pelagic built computer. It has easy to use interfaces is highly customizeable and has a user replaceable battery. Sherwood is also currently offering a very good package deal on the computer compass module, quick disconnect and download kit.

I have a smart com. I've had no problems with my old unit or the new unit that uwatec swapped when they did the recent upgrade. Tank data is very accurate and I like the "remaining bottom time" indicator. Yes, you do need an IR device to change the user settings. I use an iPAQ, which also logs my dives. The only issue I have with it is that it's a little big - but thats a problem with all console computers I guess.
