Hello board members,
I hope that this "shout for help" is at the right place here in the Marine Science and Physiology board.
For a summery project I am looking for a paper:
"Thalmann, E.D. and R.P. Weinberg. 1990. Cold Water Exposure Guidelines for Passive
Thermal Garments. NMRC Work Unit 639113N M009.01B-1004."
That was also probably published in "Undersea Biomedical Research" Issue 17.
I found a reference to it in
"SURVEY OF THERMAL PROTECTION STRATEGIES" by Robert T. Stinton, Diving Unlimited International:
....
Thalmann in Cold Water Guidelines for Passive Thermal Garments (1990) presented a simple algorithm to generate an exposure table. The algorithm can be set up on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and takes into account the following parameters: desired end of exposure functionality, water temperature, size of the diver, and the activity level.
...."
Maybe someone can help me. It looks like that the magazine doesent exist anymore/ was renamed, archive goes to the rubicon foundation / GUE (the paper ist listed at rubicon, but not available/scanned for download) and Mr Thalmann passed away some years ago
I am living in germany what makes it difficult to search for it in a library... any ideas, links or PDF's
?
Alex
