Ok, here's what's happening. I'm going on a dive trip to Mexico on Wednesday night. I bought a used SP Superhawk and it will be here on Wednesday morning. So, I'm looking for a reg/guage setup to go with it. I want to visit my LDS and buy from them if possible, but they're all closed until 10:00am tomorrow! If they don't have what I need then it will be too late to order something and get it here by Wednesday (Express shipping is 2 days to our location).

So, here's what I'm thinking: order what I need online. But, what to get? I am interested in mostly shallow warm water dives. However, I live off lake Roosevelt, and now that I will have my own setup, I'm planning to start diving there, probably only in the summer though (still cold water, but dry suit not necessary, maybe 65 degrees?).

I wanted an Aeris 2 wrist computer, Scuba Pro MK16 with 190 2nd stage, and basic pressure guage and compass.

I called the only place I know to be open today, LP and they said they wouldn't put together the SP setup for me. They have to work with the kits they have. Instead they suggested the Oceanic GT DX4 reg and the Versa Pro Computer.

Any suggestions? I wanted to talk to SCUBA toys, but they're closed. Maybe Larry will happen upon this thread and give a suggestion. I notices that SCUBA toys has a Mares MR12 Proton Reg setup and of course the Aeris computer. Is the MR12 good? Is the Oceanic computer the same as the Aeris?

So, I have too many choices, and I'd like some input. Thanks!

P.S. I'm obviously not able to spend a lot of money on this setup, otherwise I'd be considering higher end stuff. Any opinions on the wrist mount Compasses rather than the console ones? I'm having a hard time finding a console that has just pressure and compass. There was on at LP but it is out of stock :( I think the wrist mount compass might be nicer anyway. What do you guys think?

Call Scubatoys in the morning and ask them for a Zeagle DSIV wih ZX second stage and Octo or ask for the Envoy. ZX is good for cold water. As them to overnight it.

Maybe you should rent for this trip (either there or at home and take it along) instead of rushing like crazy. "What you can get in a hurry" doesn't sound like a good method of picking gear. If your local shop doesn't have what you want maybe you can get them to cut you a deal on a rental while your stuff is on order.

If you can wait, talk to Larry in the morning. I know he'll do everything to get you what you need in time. I bought the Aeris Atmos 2 Wrist Computer from him and he's a stand-up guy.

FWIW I'm pretty sure the versa pro and the atmos 2 are the same computer

I'll be in the shop by 9 - an no problem getting something out on Monday - and we can overnight it no problem. Give me a shout Monday monring and I'll help you get set up.

Thanks guys! I appreaciate your help. I'll get with you Larry in the morning. Any thoughts on these reg setups anyone? Isn't the Zeagle way over my price range?

I have a ScubaPro MK25/S600 set-up. It's also going to depend on what Larry can sell you and still offer the manufacturers warranty.

Yes, of course Larry can't sell Scuba Pro. I know a lot of people are happy with your reg setup Scott. I'd love to have it too, but guess it's also above my $$ range!
