Need Beta Testers for iPhone Nudibranch ID App

I have just finished a new App for iPhone and iPod Touch to assist in identifying Nudibranchs. It is ready for beta testing so I'm looking for a few volunteers with various models of iOS devices. I'd like at least one tester for each model of iPhone (1 through 4) I'd also like a tester for each of the 4 iPod Touch versions. If you are interested, I need to know the version of device you have and the version of iOS installed on it. I'm only testing iOS versions from 3.0 to 4.1, but if anyone has a dinosaur still running 2.xx, I wouldn't mind seeing if it runs on something that old. No iPad's yet please. I'm not finished with the iPad version. It will be a separate beta test.

Beta testers will, of course, get a free copy of the release version of the App. If you are interested, respond by PM.

Apple is extremely security conscious so there are a couple of hoops to go through to put a beta copy on a device.  Since it doesn't come through the app store, I have to apply to Apple for a special provisioning profile for your device (and all the other beta testers)  One of the things that I need to send Apple is the UDID number of your iPhone.  The way you find this number is by opening iTunes while your phone is connected to your computer's USB port.  In iTunes, single click on your phone's icon under the Devices heading of the left column.  That will open the summary page of info about your phone.  You will see lines for the device name, capacity, software version and serial number.  If you hold down the Option Key (Mac) or Alt Key (PC) and then click on the serial number, that line will change to say Identifier (UDID): and have a ridiculously long string of numbers and letters.  That's your UDID.  It is best to copy it and paste it into an email to me rather than trying to type it.

Send the UDID to me at: steve_fish@mac.com. DO NOT send the UDID through the forum.

When I get all the UDID's back from the beta testers, I submit the batch of UDID's to Apple and they generate a provisioning profile that will allow the app to run on only those devices (prevents unauthorized distribution).

I expect to have everything ready to send out by Friday.  There will be some fairly simple instructions for installing the beta copy of the app onto your phone by dragging a couple of files into iTunes.
