Great news for Aeris Atmos AI owners
This is my question:
The battery door could not be opened undamaged?

The plastic battery cover. They get brittle and weaken over time. The one I had just cracked when trying to unscrew. They don't make the covers or the computer anymore. Oh well. What part? If it's just a battery change?
There does seem to be "something" wrong.your computer isn't working.
Found 3 i550 covers in Spain. Got them today. Fingers crossed. No, the battery hatch door could not be opened because the raised edges on the "coin slot" used to open the hatch break off over time as the cheap plastic deteriorates and became fragile/brittle. Once those raised sections broke off, it was impossible to get the battery hatch off without drilling holes in the hatch cover, and using a watch case wrench to unscrew the hatch. I am sorry to hear the Aqualung I550 hatch covers can't be found, because baking them was a great solution to the unavailability of the Atmos AI battery hatch cover.
