I was thinking of buying some gear, and have shopped around, but not really sure if the equipment i am about to purchase is any good

Dive Computer: Suunto D6
Pressure Gauge: Suunto SM-36
Reg: AQUALUNG, TITAN LX
Octy: AQUALUNG, OCTOPUS TITAN LX
BCD: AQUALUNG, PRO QD +SURE LOCK
Mask: CRESSI, HORIZON
Snorkel: CRESSI, ALPHA 1 FLEX
Wetsuit: BARE, Velocity 5/4 Fullsuit
Fins: MARES, AVANTI QUATTRO EXCEL NEW ABS PLUS

Thanks in advance

The regulators are solid.
Does the LDS throw in the octo? You are getting ready to fork out some money and my LDS comps the octo if you buy a package...You don't necessarily need a Titan for a alt secondary. See if they will make a deal on that.
Suunto makes a good dive computer. Two things about the D6. It's small. I have an issue with it's size. You will have to change the strap to fit over your wetsuit...I think. And, for me, I would rather have a bigger display. You have 2 nitrox settings with the D6. Will you be needing that right now? If not, you may want to go with the Vyper. Finally...Suunto had to recall some of the D 9's and D 6's back in June. The serial numbers for the D 6 are 62103693. This may have been fixed. I would check this out before buying.
As far as the mask and fins...Fit and comfort are your primary concerns. The snorkel...If it is flex and has a purge valve, then that's all you need. You can get them for $16-$25. I wouldn't let them talk you into some expensive snorkel...Just my 5 cents. Hope it helps...

Looks reasonable

All of your servicable air items are AQUALUNG so that lmits your running around to repair.

The Bare 5/4 Velocity is a nice suit. Is it enough suit? Your profile could use a lot more info.

Above all FIT, FIT, FIT. Did you get to try the BCD in at least a pool? Check for fit and layout, it's all different when you're UW.

Hi. Good regs, BCD and mask - I love the tear drop mask (allows you to see a lot more downward, such as what you have clipped on to your BCD). wetsuit should be good too if thickness is right - I use Bare 7mm Arctic wetsuits (awesome for colder water).
Not sure about the rest. If you're not getting a good deal on the computer, check out the Aeris XR2 deal at Scubatoys (nitrox ready, I use its Oceanic clone).
If possible, I would try out my dive equipment in the pool first before buying to ensure the mask, wetsuit, fins and BCD fit, hoses are the right length, and BCD has enough D-clips for accessories, positions you properly underwater and on the surface etc.
Dive safely.

The only suggestion I might make is to try other brands and styles of stuff prior to purchasing to make sure you are getting what fits well and works for you. You may have already been through that, though.

Just curious but how did you pick this stuff out? Specifically the computer. By features or price or reputation or what? The reason I ask is that I am researching computers now myself and I am thinking they all sound about the same except for wrist mounted or wireless etc etc etc. Seems like they all do the same things. What makes them so different price-wise.

Thanks

Hi chap, good choices in equipment there although I would put one fly in the mix. Have a look at the Oceanic Atom computer. This allows you three different mixees and has almost all the functionality of the D9 plus the atom is far cheaper. I have both and use my atom rather than my d9 as the atom i find is easier to read. Also i can put three transmitter for my different gases with the atom and i can also check my buddies air preassure if they have a transmitter.

Dont forger the Oceanic lifetime warranty as well

Sorry, I betr u had just decided as well.

I like those fins because you can't accidentally loose the fin strap- I was wearing my instructors biofins and accidentally unclipped the strap and dropped it in zero viz water just before my checkout dive, so I appreciate the Mares locking fin strap! I'm just a novice, but they seem to have good propulsion without being too heavy.
