At the Breakwater deli, check out the family portrait near the cash register where they can't even muster up a smile, they are snarling. I make it a point to break up the largest bill I have for a soda or hot chocolate. They hate breaking $20 which I don't understand since they have the cash machine in the store. I like giving them exact change at the diveshop for an air fill. Back to the subject, the tri-tip sandwich at the deli is good.

But it never works. I tried to use it a couple of times before I knew better, and both times I mentioned it (no sign on it), 'tude dude acts like I just demanded a kidney, painstakingly and deliberately retrieves like 40$ from somewhere, sticks it in the machine, I take it out, and it goes back to being broken.

I'm trying to picture how they got the idea to open a restaurant... "Honey... we both really hate people, and the people we hate more than ANYONE are divers because they're drippy, filthy, urine soaked creatures that always have wet money and never have exact change. Let's open a deli on the pier of the most popular dive spot in Monterey! That will fill our lives with happiness!"
