Need a good mask for this small face! Mares X-vision????

Hey all,

I'm looking for a nicer mask with good field of vision (particularly downward), I can't find anyone locally who sells the Mares X-vision to try one on. Wondering if anyone out there has a narrow, small face and has dived with one - or what works for you??? I'm a petite woman and only weigh around 100 lbs. I've always rented gear and am guessing I've been handed kid's mask in the past. I'll be doing a very heavy amount of diving (Caribbean) and really want something nice. Thanks for the input!

Try on Poseidon mask or try a mask for kids they might fit your face better than an adult one. :01zz:

Hi Sturgeon,
Never mind the X-Vision, I think, given you have a small face. I have a wide face, and the X-Vision fits me even better than my old Cressi Big Eyes, so I doubt the new Mares mask would be a good choice for you anyway.

Try the Oceanic Shadow mask. They have one for a small face called the mini that should fit you. I have the regular Shadow that I wear when diving, and I also use the Mini Shadow as my backup mask.

My teenage son has the Zeagle Ranger. It was a "testers choice" at Rodales.

sturgeon, try the smaller X-stream or X-comfort masks of Mares. The X-Vision might be too big for you.

Be very careful regarding the fit. See this eBay auction for what happens when you buy the latest thing based on other's opinions rather than trying it yourself.

Sturgeon, my wife and I recently bought new masks. She has a narrow/small face. I bought an X-Vision and asked her to try it on but it was way to big, poor seal.

The store owner suggested two masks, the Scubapro Cool Vu and the Tusa Clio (something like that). She tried them both and actually bought both, she needed a good back up.

Note: The Cool Vu is a youth mask (small version of the Crystal Clear) and the Tusa mask is designed with Women in mind.
