I am needing a good Dive watch I will be starting out diving only a hand full of times a year I was looking at the citizen line and the suunto line, any input would be greatfuly appriciated I have only been diving for a year and enjoy it alot. useability isnt an option it dont matter how hard it is to you or how easy I just need a good and reliable dive watch/computer.

Well, you asked about a dive watch. I just use a $15 watch from Walmart, guaranteed deeper than I'm going to go.

But at the end of your post, you said "dive watch/computer." Two different machines. I wear a computer for all sorts of reasons, and wear a watch for safety stops, etc.

So, which one are you looking for? $15 watch or $300 Nitrox computer? {Don't buy Air only if you get a computer!}

Ditto on the Walmart watch...thats no joke. clip it to your BCD & you've got time. I where a mosquito. I dive tropical at a minimum twice a month. The log feature is handy, and helps me review my dives. The range is out there. Check out the new Tiffany's, its smokin.

I've been diving for several years and am only on my second watch. Both were inexpensive and would work as a bottom timer. There's no reason to spend a lot of money if you are only looking for a dive watch.

sorry I should have made it a dive computer, I was looking at the citizen line which had a comp in there line of dive watches/computers and then the suunto line which has a couple different ones

Okay, how many opinions you want, and within what parameters...?

Use the Search key on both brands and read what's already been said.

Then ask more specific questions, so we can be of help...

My basic old reliable dive watch is a Timex Expedition that I found on a ledge at 70' where it had obviously been for some months judging by the growth on it. I found it five years ago and still have not had to change the battery. It's rated to 100 meters, the buttons will work underwater without leaking, and the watch will no doubt still be going strong long after I am not.

My basic wear to the office and everywhere else but diving watch is a Citizen Pro-master. It is a very nice watch rated to 200 meters, is slightly smaller and a lot thinner than a comparable Seiko and has large hands that glow bright enough in the dark that you can practically read a book by them. It looks very nice and keeps excellent time, but it is in my opinon too nice to actually take diving where you run the risk of actually losing it. I'd much rather use and lose a $30-$40 timex than a much more expensive Citizen or Seiko.

I am not a big fan of a dive/watch computer combo. I much prefer the readibility of a full size dive computer as well as the reliability and redundancy of a relatively low tech watch. A watch/computer combination offers neither.

So Da Aquamaster, what dive computer have you use so far?

As for watch, I just bought a Time ReefGear, rated to 100m. After searching through Google, some watch failed when the button is pressed below 60' (18m), so I only press the button when I'm over 15' (5m). I mainly used to measure my total dive time and safety stop. But I think I pressed the button accidentaly at 30m. I have dive to 32m with the watch, and it still working.

Last, I bought the watch for $33.

I dive with a Suunto Titanium Stinger as My Back-up..Redundancy computer..I love it..so if You need any input from a Stinger owner..Let Me know

If you know that you're gonna do lots of dives w/ variations, start from the top like the vytech of uwatech, it realli hurts when you have lower end gears and you're trying to get into higher level diving. On the other hand, if you're just gonna do a few dives over a year without anything fancy, suunto gekko seemed to be a pretty nice computer at a reasonable price.
