I've tried searching posts regarding rashes. It seems that most advice is that it's critter related or allergy related (neoprene or latex). I don't think either apply to my situation but after diving I get an angry red rash on the back of my neck and around my mouth and on my chin. This rash does not itch but is very similar to small pimples. Even after diving only two days recently (7 dives), the rash appeared. I even tried wearing a rash guard under my 3/2 suit thinking it's irritation from my bc and/or suit.

It seems to me if it were critters, the rash would appear in other areas, at least occasionally. Also if it is an allergy, the areas don't seem to have a commonality (face and neck). Does anyone have any suggestions or any experience with something similar?

Thanks!

You don't say where you are diving. What waters? Some local's have critters that will cause a rash but that takes awhile to go away.

Caribbean mostly. It's happend in Aruba, Cayman and Cozumel. I don't recall it happening in Hawaii (a few years ago) or in Catalina (cold water). But again, if it's critters, why only on the back of my neck and around my mouth/chin. Why not my forehead or the front of my neck or anywhere else? It's ALWAYS and ONLY my neck and mouth/chin. That's what I find so strange.

An existing problem, not seen until aggravated by salt water...??

I remember seeing a program about real small sea critters that get into clothing, swim wear or dive shorties that because of the rubbing at folds and joints irritate the skin. Sorry if I can't remember their name but the pictures I was was a red rash. Hope this helps.

"Sea Lice," thimble jellyfish larvae, but this case does not fit.

Thanks guys. I thought about sea lice / jellies / other critters but Dandy Don is right. It just doesn't fit. Same place every time and never anywhere else? Seems unlikely. Especially as it also affects my face.
