Water under the bridge, well then you soak the $$$ amount up! Paul it's not right! Try to tell me different. I would like to know, really............. I was a member for a long time and left the club because of this. So to me it's not "Just water under a bridge"

It's water under the bridge because Donna is not the boat dive coordinator. You obvoiusly have a problem with her and you are looking for some satisfaction by bringing it into the public. I think the NEADC is a good group of people with a lot to offer local divers and I would hate for someone not to join the club becasue of the actions of one person. Either way I think this should have been between you and her and should not reflect on the club as a whole. I may be wrong but I don't think that what you experienced has ever been a club policy.

I went on Donna's seal dives the past two years, and I had a blast. I also remember that she had everyone sign a waiver when we paid that said there couldn't be any cancellations or substitutions. I also figured that the reqirement of an advenced cert was the boat's policy, not Donna's.
I know that she takes a big risk with her own money renting the entire boat out 4 months in advance and I apprecieate it. Nevertheless, she said that she's never doing it again because of the grief she got this year.
As far as the dive club itself, it's a large orginization, and I've met tons of great divers through it. This year, there is a new boat dive coordinator, and the shore diving schedule is almost ready. Paul (from P.G.) I am not one to start a big " My Dads bigger than your Dad". All is I'm saying is that Donna Romano did not lay the cards on the table, she did not tell our group of any policies or any rules. Maybe that was our fault for not looking further into it since we are all at least divemaster or more trained. I just think she handled the situation very wrong. If I was wrong there wouldn't be three pages of text to read. Paul there is a million different ways we can look at this and am sure if we took a poll I would bet my mortgage on it. Donna might now run a great trip and everything else, but I think I was a learning tool for her that cost me money, that's what bothers me. I don't like being STIFFED like that so that's why I am throwing her name around like a bad smell! Just like you Paul I work in the service industry and for me customer service comes first. I have nothing to gain or lose here so whatever anyone who wants to say can say. Overall there is a right way and a wrong way to do things or conduct business. She had a policy...this may not have been communicated to you.....you lost some money...this was bad for you. We all get it.

Relax you're beating up the wrong folk. Paul is a voice of reason on the board and is always helpful and pleasant. Not so with many other folk out there. It is water under the bridge because it is done and gone and you can't change it so let it go. Diving is supposed to be relaxing and fun, everyone messes up now and again forgive forget and move on. I don't agree with an policy which is inflexible either but I wouldn't have signed up for a trip run by someone I don't know.
