In the state Britain was in after Dunkirk, they probably wouldn't have made it out of 1940 if Goring hadn't blundered by switching the attack from fighter command to civilian targets. Without our support, and the support of others, you were looking at many more years. We won't even mention how we supported Russia at the same time.
