hi doc
my wife had her first dive 2 months ago to 10m, immediately following vomiting thru seasickness on the boat.
for the last 2 months she has had consistent nausea, had every test known t man (no cancer anywhere...phew), but the bloody docs have not sent her to an ENT specialist yet.
she is now experiencing sleeplessness, nausea, anxiety and loss of appetite,

she had vertigo for a week after the dive, but this has disappeared

any ideas?

thanks

joe

I haven't heard of symptoms like that related to diving lasting so long. The sleeplessness, anxiety, and loss of appetite are probably related to the stress of the last 2 months. As for the nausea, not sure. If you think it's dive related, go see an ENT. Has she had a pregnancy test?

Contact DAN for a dive savvy ENT in your neighborhood.

I'm just a common diver but this sound more like a equilibrium issue as opposed to GI tract related nausea. Some sort of barotrauma on that first dive is quite possible.

It does seem odd that something this persistent was not aparent even in a cursory ear exam. In any case an ENT is the one doctor I'd be seeing if it were me.

Has her hearing been OK?
