NO, I am not able to down load. I have just one computer and it is running Vista 64. I still have not be able to get any of my dives downloaded from the N2ition 3. Harsh, not at all when I bought it I checked on the Zeagle website to see what systems it would work on. At the time it said it would work on VISTA. This was before the changed the wording to exclude VISTA 64. Does it work in the water yes, does it do everything they said it would do YES. Can I download anything from it. NO. So what use is it to me. I could not return it to the store because I went diving with it the same day I bought it. I did not know at the time I would not be able to use the down loader. When I contacted Zeagle, I was told they were aware of the issue and were working on the issue and was directed to Scuba Board and this string. So Yes, I am a little unhappy with Zeagle. When I contacted them again I got the same ansewer. I am sure most people have found some type of work around so that they can download their dives and I am just one guy. I spent good money on a product that I can not use in the way that was intended and from my contact with Zeagle they seem to care very little about my issues. So this is why I have decided not to buy and of thier products ever again. I know I am just one customer and losing one customer will not hurt thier bottom line. I took the time and check out and read all I could and decided that the N2ition 3 had all the features I was looking for and at a good price. BUT, all that is mute now because I can't download anything. So, in the end you feel my statements have been harsh. I say my treatment from Zeagle has been, I can't say harsh. I think non-caring is a better term. Hey, they already got my money so what do they have to worry about? Nothing!

If you want to download this is what you need to do. (I run linux and this is how I do it)

Install a virtualbox from this site.

Downloads - VirtualBox

Source an XP disk. There are plenty around. I'm not going to tell you how.

Create a virtual machine

Install XP inside it.

Make sure .Net Framework version 2 is installed.

Install the N2ition software.

Download your dives.

Install Divinglog from this website

Diving Log 5.0 - Scuba Log, Scuba Logbook, Dive Log, Divelog - Logbook software for scuba diving - Logbuch Software zum Tauchen

On the imports section select the N2ition Software. Import your dives

It works a treat.

BTW. The vista 64 is not only an issue with Seiko. It is a wide spread problem of Microsoft. I have recommended virtualbox as the virtual machine but microsoft has released their own as well. They are hopeless.

Again it is not necessarily Zeagle as the problem is bigger than them.

Best regards,

D

What a hassel!... I have an idea that you are (obviously!) more "computer savy" than I am!
I really don't like the idea of jumping through a bunch of hoops to be able to download this dive computer!.. Why should I have to mess with loading a bunch of other programs on to my computer for this purpose! And to have to install a "virtual box" and a complete version of "XP" on my system!.... How much memory is that project going to eat up? :dontknow:
When I purchased my n2ition 3 they had not yet even released any Vista compatible software, but I was assured that it was "in the works" and would be out "soon"!... Well that was nearly a year and a half ago!... Guess what? I still can't download my info!... And Zeagle and Gibby have not been able to do anything to remedy this!... And, when I have casually mentioned to them that it would be nice if they would "buy back" my $150.00 "clothes pin", that suggestion has fallen on deaf ears!
So, I must say, I am equally frustrated and disgruntled with the current state of affairs!... Do I blame Zeagle?.... Not so much directly, but I do think they could stand behind their customers better!
So Gibby, you had asked me a few posts back to send you a PM regarding my "issues"... I did that immediately and have not yet heard back from you..... Care to chime in now on the growing customer dissatisfaction? .... And can I interest you once more in a lovely $150.00 "clothes pin"?

Ditto!

Zeagle aside,

Windoze is not going to get better. What I posted above is Microsoft's solution for Vista 64 and Windoze 7.

Follow the link below for the "Windows XP" mode.

It will suck some memory but only while you run both systems in parallel. It takes me 3 minutes to download. Then you close it just like any other application.

I have personally written to Seiko and have asked them to release the download codes so other programers can create download software FOR FREE.

I was basically (and politely) told to F off.

I know it is not ideal. However, it is what it is.

So, before you sell your computer or throw it away. You may want to download your dives.

I have given you the steps it is up to you if you follow them or not.

Amen! Why should I have to jump through all these hoops just to get my computer to download? I bought the computer on good faith that it would work with my ONLY computer. Before I bought the computer I went to the Zeagle website to check compatibility. At that time the VISTA 64 exceptions was not on the website. It was added about 2 or 3 weeks after I bought my computer. I am very dissatisfied with Zeagle.

Mate,

I am equally dissatisfied. I actually didn't own a pin until some weeks ago when I figured out how to do it.

it was a painfull purchase to get my data...

Now that I have it I can move on.

And yes, I would like to send the pc and the pin back to the factory.

Uhhh? Did I fail to mention I run Vista 64 bit?... The Virtual XP site very plainly states "Your PC must run genuine Windows 7 to install Windows XP Mode."
So now I guess I have to buy a copy of Windows 7 before I can use this!.... Well it just keeps getting better all the time! Doesn't it?
How about they offer a program that works on my current system?.... You know, sort of like they promised before I plunked down my money! :shakehead:

If you continue searching in the microsoft's website you'll find the one for Vista 64.

I know its convoluted... it is horrible (and one of the main reasons I jumped to Ubuntu linux and my wife now uses apple mac)

That is also the reason why I gave you the link for virtual box a Sun Microsystems software and why I initially didn't gave any of the several microsoft links.

use virtual box, it is far easier.

If you really want to continue to use microsoft's services here is the link:

Download details: Virtual PC 2007

The last time I checked, Microsoft was not selling dive computers. Nope, I just checked and nowhere on the computer does it say Microsoft or Windows. Nor did I buy the computer from Seiko, even if they did make it. It is clearly marked Zeagle. If I had bought it from Seiko, then my grip would be with them. I really have not figured out why you want to place any blame at all with Microsoft. Why should I have to jump through all these hoops to get my dive computer to download? I think the work around is total BS, and YES, I chose not to use it. I should not have to. When I contacted Zeagle I was not told to F-Off but they might as well have. Their solution was to send me here and this has been such a big help. Yeah, right. The only help it has been is a place to vent my frustrations. It has almost become laughable Zeagle’s inaction on this matter.
