Excellent pics. I was in Sangalaki last year and must have been one of the very rare group that never got to see Manta :(

SSRA30....That's real rotten luck. When I was there, they were all over the place. They had to bank hard to avoid us on the surface and in the water. They were visible in convoys and formations on the surface.

Stole this picture from a fren of mine.

I had arse luck at Maratua too, in the country of big fishes...missed the show where thousands of jacks and barracudas were in the water. The group that went 2 days later saw that and a squadron of 11 eagle rays.... :11: Oh well...you win some and you lose some...

I did see a gigantic school of barracudas at Big Fish Country at Maratua. Just did not see mantas at Sangalaki (a couple of friends saw 1 ) and we had a new diveguide who did not know where the pgymy seahorses are.
Oh well, at least the jellyfish lake was still there :)
