Hi,

Here are some of my first pictures UW.
Some were taken in Mediterranian and other in Atlantic.

I know that I´ve to work harder but I´m starting to learn and pratice.

I´m uploading some more to my gallery, and I´ll like any comments.

Nice dives

Sure those are your 1st

They look great,love the octopus.

Nice one Baruka , what type of setup are you usin there ?

Ofcourse I took a lot of them that were bad, but it was my first fotos.

I use a Canon 590Is and Ikelite case.
I´m trying to save some money to buy a strobe and a macro lens.
Perhaps next year.

Well then you are off to a really good start !!! Look forward to seeing some more of your work.

Hi,
Thanks.

One of my goals, until I haven´t a strobe, is to achieve better frame composition, even there is any suspension visible on the picture.
I have seven dives with my camera, and every one is a learning one.

I´m not a lover of post-processing but there is some "crops" . I think that optimize the "frames". What is your opinion?

Great pictures! Here are my 2 cents on the last two you asked about...

On your octopus shot, I really think the second cropped picture is not as good as the first. I like seeing the interaction between the octopus and the muscle shells. It shows what he has been up to. ;o)

For the shrimp I like seeing him in his environment as well - if you cropped it closer then I would want to see it really close up to his face/body and not half way cropped on the tentacles. Plus if you are going to get real close, then I want to see lots of details, like the striations of the octopus eye and the hairs on the shrimp legs... I realize this may be easier once you get a macro lens, but hopefully this feedback helps you! My terminology might be a little off, but hopefully you get the idea!

I really love shallow depth of field as well - however it does take a lot of practice, something I certainly do not have down! That could be something you work on until you get the 'extras'.

Happy shooting!

Nice shots. You are now hooked on underwater photography and your life is officially ruined. Nothing else will ever matter :).

Hi,

Where2next - Sorry I need some help in translation: What do you mean with " shallow depth of field as well"

Thank you for your opinions. They were a big help for me.

Very good work, Baruke! You are doing great.

Amen Brother! Nowadays, it's all about getting THE shot...
