Yeah, thats a 2" or 2.5", no name brand gauge, with no safety pop off; and if I had to guess 3% accurate (9 PSI) Grade C; I wouldn't trust that to set IP but would be helpful to determine creep or leaks. The gauge I made is 4" Winters (very well know gauge maker), 1.5% accurate, between Grade 1A & Grade A, across the entire range (that's within 4.5 PSI). Larger gauges are more accurate, doubt you'd find a tech that uses anything less than 4"; and though most techs use 1% accurate Grade 1A (3 PSI), 1.5% would be the max. As I only service my families regs this works fine. The gauge I made is comparable to the two in the links below, $115 and $170; I built mine for half that.

lol, no I’ll have to fix that.

Thanks for the guide - I purchased all the linked pieces for the IP gauge off Canadian amazon and put it all together. However, the safety valve leaks a very small amount of air from the part where it would let off excess pressure. I called the company and discovered that this is due to the fact that it's a "hard seat" valve as opposed to a soft seat which would not leak any air. I did a bit of googling and it seems it's normal for these hard seat valves to let out air as they approach the higher thresholds of their safety pressure. This one was leaking at 130-135 PSI, less than 50% of its threshold.

Does your valve also leak small amounts of air and would this leak affect the displayed pressure on the gauge?

That’s odd, mine doesn’t leak; it shouldn’t leak at all, I think this would definitely throw the gauge off, but if it’s very small I don’t think it would matter.
