It's hot and steamy, or at least one of my dive computers thinks so.

It started beeping ("H2O") yesterday, thinking it was in the water and about to dive. It was actually resting in with my dry dive gear.

So I stuck it in the 'fridge, that was the only way I could get it to shut up.

Or maybe it's just lonely and trying to tell me to get out and dive...

Well, it definitely has been hot, but I would not say steamy!

Maybe try rebooting--take the battery out and put it back in.

Take the battery out, check it with a VOM and then decide to put it, or a new one, back in.

The battery was recently replaced. That doesn't mean it's still good, but the computer doesn't self-activate on a low battery.

In the fridge the battery voltage should actually go down. Since it's been in there it hasn't activated itself. All quiet.

I think the moisture sensor is just sensitive to the heat.

We're not suggesting that there is anything wrong with the battery. We're suggesting that the computer needs to reboot, just as rebooting the computer on which you are reading this message can solve problems. The only way to reboot a dive computer is to remove the battery and then put it back in.
