My buddy is an air hog

My buddy is an air hog and I always finish my dives with at least 1400 psi on my tank.
What should I do?!?!?!?!?

Drowning him is not an option...... lol

New Buddy?

If not that, smaller tanks for you? (why carry more wieght if you don't need it right!)

Or even better, keep diving with him and perhaps increase the frequency of diving. With practice, he'll get better air consumption.

Optimally, if you can find a way to get your buddy to be better on air, that would be the way to go. Sometimes there's not much you can do, but if your buddy's consumption is because he's working too hard because of overweighting, or whatever problem there might be, those are the sorts of things that can be improved upon.

My buddy is a guy just like you, he always has at least 1000 when I have +-500 left. How do you compare physically?, as in the case with my buddy hes a little guy, 5'9" 140lbs so he obviously needs less than myself at 6'4" 225lbs. Ive planned a purchase of a 95cu tank, that seems to balance us out well, but I might go for a 108 just to spite him, then well see who needs to surface!! ......first.
