Underwater proposals can be cool and all, but if you think your girlfriend may get really emotional...I wouldn't do it underwater.

This is really a good point. You don't want to turn a happy event into a rescue. Make sure you have a pretty good idea how she will react.

Do it on the ascent - to be safe. It'll surely make for an interesting "safety" stop....

When we got to the bottom, 2 others pulled apart a big banner that said "Happy Birthday". 2l of us had video cameras and caught everything. It was really cool for everyone, as I'm sure this will be too.

I wish I had a chance of being proposed underwater.

But I'll be diving on my birthday this year, who knows?

Just one week to go, and so much to do before...:bonk:

I proposed to my girlfriend now wife while on scubadiving in Grand Cayman in Feb 2002. The only twist was she was on the atlantis submarine and I swam up tot he porthole with a huge sign that said Will You Marry Me?. My friend was on the sub with her and she handed her the ring and two signs "YES" and "NO". While there are differences when both are on scuba I would suggest making sure there is a videographer available(we still show the video that was made at least once a week. PM me for further details if interested. I also have some pics of the event if you are interested
