Margaret Webb called us this morning asking if we would come to the Garden Spot near Abalone Cove. Something about a forgotten hood. We arrived to find very dirty water but since Margaret was already in we decided to join her. Although I found a lot of critters the poor visibility made it difficult to get any decent photos.
Facelina stearnsi
We headed back around the hill hoping to find better conditions at Golf Ball Reef. The surface was choppy. The wind was coming up and the water was green and dirty looking here as well. We jumped in anyway.
Visibility was less than a foot as we descended. When we reached the bottom we were shocked to find twenty-five feet visibility or better, albeit a little brisk at 52°.
Brown rochfish, Sebastes auriculatus
Felimida macfarlandi lost in the weeds.
Cadlina limbaughorum
Pycnoclavella stanleyi
Berthella californica
Swell shark egg
Two-spot octopus
Chestnut cowrie laying eggs
Sheep crab face
