I'll be up at Mt Storm this coming Sunday for anyone who is interested. Water temp should be around 60.

Mt Storm lake is a man made lake that serves as a cooling pond for a coal fired VEPCO power plant. The water is warmed by the process and usually remains 60 or better during the winter and up into the 90's at the surface in the summer. It is a high altitude dive located 3244 ft above sea level and depths to 130 ft can be found. It is located about 6 miles from Mt Storm WV. For more info see the following sites:

Hope to see you there,

Air temp was in the 50's water temp was 61 at the surface and 57 at depth (122 ft) and viz was 15 ft. I will be going next Sunday as well.

Is the vis better in the summer?

Viz usually gets to about 20 ft except near the platforms during classes where it can drop quite a bit due to poor bouyancy skills of the students. It is down now a bit due to the snow melting and runoff.
