Jason Ooi:
Hi,

Which part of Location and dive site?
How the diving environments and marine life?

Jason:06:

Lo Sin is basically a rock that sticks up just above the surface (see attached pic). Whaleshark(s) are usually sighted around the outer area away from the rock (Lo Sin Gong Nok). There's plenty of marine life around (bumphead parrotfish, mantas, schools of batfish, fusiliers, etc.) and the coral field is extremely well preserved - mostly hard coral though, so it is a very drab looking site, not colourful like Richelieu or the Similans.

Lo Sin can only be reached by liveaboard, usually departing from Hat Yai or other ports further south (see map).

Hi,

OK! Thank for your kindness and good information.
Similan see you next years 2007:wink:

They are relatively near each other "as the crow flies" but Lo Sin and Hin Muang are located on different sides of southern Thailand. LoSin is in the Gulf of Thailand "near" Hat Yai and Hin Muang is located in the Andaman Sea, below Krabi.

Usually, one would fly to Hat Yai and then either board a liveaboard there or drive further south and embark from another port - this would depend on the liveaboard.

The dive season for Lo Sin and the Andaman side is different, so some liveaboards do move (by sailing around Malaysia), depending on the season. Getting on a liveaboard from Phuket to go to Lo Sin would be madness since the trip would take weeks.

likely, April - October

I would say the best time to visit Lo Sin is probably August - September; the sea condition can be rather rough by the end of Sept.
