A few months back I found a 22 auto pistol that had been in the ocean a while. What puzzled me was that it was to far to throw from the shore and in a spot you would not want to take a boat. It was too encrusted and pitted to interest the cops.

The most memorable was a 20# weight belt I found while abalone diving,no SCUBA and a float that would only hold up a limit of abs. 20' of water and about 150 yards to where I could walk to shore. I'm glad I was young then 'cause I [-]couldn't [/-] wouldn't do it now.

I love finding interesting things to bring in even if it's to deposit it in the nearest trash can, after showing it off.

I may be old but I’m not dead yet.

A couple of weeks ago diving in Cozumel I found a man's wedding ring - I started a thread in Cozumel in an attempt to finfd the owner - not sure if it is a sad honeymooner or a happy divorcee? So far no-one is claiming the ring!!

Engraved (inside), Gold Wedding Band, in Hawaii
Posted it on local boards & at most L.D.S.'s
After 5 months, moved back to mainland, without ever finding owner.
Probably a vacationer.
Wish I could have found owner.

A Rossignol ski pole, in Thailand.

If someone can explain it, I'd love them forever; I have wondered about that bloody pole for a decade now.

Dropped by a clueless novice waterskier, no doubt

The weirdest thing I ever found was a computer monitor in about 15m of water off a deserted Island in the Farisan Banks off Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea, still wonder how it got there. I have visions of a Ships Captain getting frustrated with his PC and throwing it overboard!
