No one has any educated guesses?

Swerving back from Spamalot, if but for just a moment....

Excluding stuff that we voluntarily put in our mouths (easy there, soldier),
the most deadly thing in the ocean is undoubtedly microbial icky things.

What's the most common question you get when it's known you're a diver?

Aren't you afraid of sharks?

My answer: It's the little stuff (that you can't see) that will kill'ya.

Fecal/poopy and other icky cells that will slip inside the smallest opening in your epidermis.

Thread now back to "Minty Peython".

I personally think that the MOST DANGEROUS MARINE LIFE will be... people! ;)

MilitantMedic:
Anyone have any links/info for the most "deadly" marine life for divers? I'm looking statistical data on deaths caused by marine life..not marine most capable of killing. My "shootin' from the hiip" guess is a jellyfish.

Dumbass humans killing themselves through lack of experience, stupidity, or both.

I think he was talking about divers, yours sounds like a reference to DRIVERS!
I fear for my life every time I drive to and from a dive site!

I have to believe it's the infamous killer rabbit with big pointy teeth.
(gotta rent that movie, haven't seen it in years) :D

Sharkbait:
Zoot at Castle Anthrax may have some shrubbery, I heard she has a nice bush.

I'm sorry..........................

Castle Anthrax is much more perilous than ocean creatures, but who couldn't use just a bit of peril now and again?

Vaguely remember something about these in the Monty Python,
Search for the Holy Grail. Cute little guy's.
Great movie if that's the one!
I'd still rather fight one of those than the soccer mom driving 20 miles
over the speed limit in her huge suv, with 3 brats bouncing in the back
seat screaming, while she talks on her cell phone totally oblivious!!!

HAHAH so how did this get turned into a Monty P thread??

Where else would you find killer rabbits?

I must admit though, it was hilarious when I had a pilot fish trying
to attach to my chest for about 5 minutes!! I regress,

O.K. Sorry, back on topic!

Besides ignorant people, what else is dangerous in the water?

Here's an implausible suggestion. What about humans?

Most of the DAN reports I read attribute diver death to human factors (health, training, equipment issues, panic, etc) over encounters with aquatic life. We're not "marine" life. But if the statistics matter, humans in general seem to be the most common element in their own or others diver mortality. "We have met the enemy and he is us."

But the Monty Python thread is much more entertaining!
"Who are you?" "I'm your king!" "My king, eh? Well, I didn't vote for you!"
