For small lights, the 1/2" diameter Locline should be sufficient. You will also need part number 51895 (look at the 1/2" page) to drill a hole and attach it to the grips. On the other end, depending on what light you have, you might have to improvise a clamp for them, or get a clamp from the light manufacturer that fits a 1/2" locline.

You should have something like this plus something to attach the lights to.

Great this is very helpful. Thank you Toozler, greatly appreciate the tips. Suppose I could just buy what you posted above that is able to be connected right away?? Are the arms long enough to start with?

Thanks,
DPS

SRP Torch Mounts on Loc-line® Arms

I think this is all i need

You can go crazy and get SOLAS or other for a couple hundred dollars too, it's up to your budget. They can cost more than the camera itself.

If they DON'T you spent way too much on the camera.

:D

I have the dragon light and trying to decide if i just want to buy an extra tray because i also have the dc1400 and i just got a gopro hero 4 silver. I want minimal to travel w so I appreciate this thread.

Took my single Archon D11 on a dive. Here is a screen capture that gives an idea how much of the frame it covers with the GoPro in medium angle mode.

Wow impressive. I'll be getting a pair

Here's the final setup of the gear, are the arms long enough to avoid back scatter? I couldn't put the arms on the handles so I had to flip them.

Looks good!

Did you try to disconnect the bottom segment on the Locline? Or the screw on the handle is too short to go through the base plus the tray?

Anyway, I think you will not have issues with backscatter. I've used my light much closer to the GoPro on a dark dive (backscatter more noticable when it's dark) without issues.

Unfortunately the handles are "Male" 3/4 while the bottom of the SRP arms are screws that require females.

Here is a video shot with the new tray (lights not in yet) during our Night Dive AOW. I used iMovie to edit... As you can see, or maybe it's just me. The video doesn't look 1080 quality using my new Hero4 Silver. Frankly I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I export to quicktime at the "Best" quality and It still seems downgraded quality... or is it just me?
