Hi,

Has anyone had the problem with their Suunto Mosquitio not activiating when diving?
I had a battery replaced because we thought this was the problem (watch is just over 12 months old). However on a dive today, it only activated for a minute.

Any ideas what this could be? I'll be taking it back to the dive shop ASAP.

Thanks,
Mel

Yup,

They sometimes tend to have a mind of their own. I have had mine refuse to go diving when I wanted to go diving (not activate) and I have had it go diving without me (activate on the surface and record a depth).

The one trip I made where it didn't activate it worked fine for the second dive. The tissue loading from the first really wasn't all that important since I was in a shallow quarry. Not something I would want it to do on a vacation.

Do you wear it often when not diving? There was some kind of troubleshooting guide - don't know if it was official or unofficial so beware - in which I read that that "foreign matter" buildup behind the buttons (the button mechanisms are kind of open from the back) may cause faulty operation and failure of water activation.

I have not had this problem before, but I soak mine overnight after diving.
