If you are going to go "big" Do a couple of charters or at least try to find a decent dive boat and get off shore and enjoy the best of florida diving. Can't recommend a single shore dive that's as good as the reefs or wrecks.

YEP !!
Everyone above posted about salt water..........Some of the best snorkeling {and best camping} is at the fresh water springs. Rainbow river, Ginnie Springs, Blue Springs are some of my favorites. But the List goes On & On & on. Crystal clear 200 feet of viz with fish, manatees, and those big toothy lizard things. Don't pass up a chance at a fresh water rinse for your gear and hair.
