North Monastery had 20ft vis today. Walk in walk out. Got in at far end of beach and then dove out and to the right. Very nice relaxing dive. Second dive was Breakwater along the wall. Vis was 15-20. A lot of fish and a few Nettles. Carmel was beautiful topside and warm. Breakwater was a little breezy and chili changing into street clothes.

Both North Monastery Beach and Lover's Point in Pacific Grove had their fair share of the ongoing plankton bloom from hell. Visibility in Carmel was fifteen feet at best; and PG, around ten . . .

Yeah lots of Plankton at Lovers 3.
Did one tank NE, one tank NW.
Vis ranged from a low of 5 ft to a high of 15-20

Mostly it was 10-15 where we were.

Didn't see and one else diving, but did see a small faded orange buoy that looked to be under tow when we were going in for the second dive.

Cannery Row was blown out these last few days; so too Carmel. Both sites had less than ten feet of visibility -- even less in places. Lots of small dead sunfish . . .

Gonna get worse through Monday too.

30 ft vis at Breakwater today. 64 degrees topside and mostly sunny. 54 degrees underwater. Great dive day.

Similar visibility in Carmel, at North Monastery Beach. Better near splash rock than closer to shore; lots of ripped up algae.

The calm before the storm this weekend . . .

Did 2 dives at North Monastery/Chutes today with Mubin. First dive was North Monastery. Vis was 35 ft and we saw a 5 foot shark which was not a GW or Leopard. Might have been Hound Shark or Soup Fin. Cool either way. A bit of surge with moderate waves but it made it easy to walk out.

Second dive was Chutes past the school and exit North Monastery. Low tide made it a challenge and some sizeable waves came through. Dropped and headed around to North Monastery. Vis was 40 ft. Sun was out for second dive and it was a nice day. Big school of blue rock fish.

Thanks for the update. I hope,to hit Carmel tomorrow, maybe Asilomar as well, depending upon the surf . . .
