I'd not do Monastery in doubles again, even in the very favorable conditions we had.

When I dived it in doubles, my host provided a fat-wheeled cart that went easily (somewhat) over the sand, and then some nice tables to set up our doubles that were at perfect slip-into hight. We tossed a weighted buoy out beyond the surf zone and took our stages out and clipped them onto the buoy line before ever gearing up. Same thing in reverse at the end of the dive. We did everything slow, taking our time, and it was really easy.

It was an ankle-slapper day, and even so, we took the time to do all that prep to make it easy.

One more thing about Monastery

The conditions may change without notice!!!

Just because you walked in doesn't mean you will walk out. Be prepared to execute the Monastery Crawl and assist others....
