mothers' day weekend.. got six tanks in!

first two tanks.. saturday morning boat dives out of hickam marina..
THE Diner and Sharks Rock.. two sites along the Ewa Ledge.
these sites were brimming with eels!

(eel got distracted by my flash.. so the slipper was able to "slip" into a puka.. whew!)

tanks three and four.. saturday evening shore dives off the north shore..
Sharks Cove right (cavern run).. and Sharks Cove left (pinnacles).

before the dive we challenged pedro to find 2 more triton trumpets..
like he did last year.. and to our surprise..

Sharks Cove right (elevator shaft).. and Sharks Cove center (grotto).

last dive was only 61 minutes.. plenty of air.. just ran out of heat.. brrr.

ha yeah.. actually etched the cucumber saturday evening..
'was in the same spot sunday morning..
(guess they don't move very fast :wink:
but, did manage to turn itself around..
so spelled "WOW" instead =/

hadn't done a one-day 4-tanker since my first year of diving..
now, know why.. was so sore that night..
but worth it.

biggest zebra i've seen.. just free-swimming thru a cavern..
(notice the bulbous cranium)

Dave - Great shots, especially of the Goby and Flounder. That's a Redstriped Pipefish in the second photo -- close relative of the sea horse.

For some reason, your pics are the only ones I can see on this page. The others don't show up. I think they're blocked by the firewall here at work. Did you copy and paste versus linking to your sugarsync account?
 
JJ - I can see your pics now (i.e. from home). I guess the site you use to stage them is blocked by the firewall at work. Great shots! It's amazing how many rare, uncommon and unique marine creatures you all found in one weekend. Where did you find the Lowfin Scorpionfish? I've only seen those once or twice on night dives (e.g. Kewalo Pipe).
