Hi folks
i'm actually trying to modify my pt-020 housing for my beloved 5060 oly.

Since I consider the front door its weakest point AND I'm mounting the Inon UWL 100 add-on lenses... I've tried to modify the port by adding some plexyglass pieces and three screws around the door's profile.

It worked fine for a week in the maldives, but at the end of the trip, while disassembling my camera set that you can see here
mymonster01.jpg

the plexy stuff I had attached using a bi-component epoxy resin detached.
I mean the resin had become like rubber after a week in salt water.

So guys I guess if anyone of you can suggest me a better resing to attach plexy stuff onto my policarbonate housing

Thanks a lot, waiting for your suggestions..

I'm not familiar with your housing, but if your modification is acrylic plastic to "acrylic-compatible" plastic, it needs acrylic plastic solvent, the pieces have to be near perfectly flat/smooth, you hold them together with tape or "whatever" & apply the solvent to the edge, allowing capillary action to suck it in to the joint. It produces an actual welded joint that way. Do a little test dribble on the housing & see if it starts to turn to mush. (use a tiny drop)
Otherwise if the materials are too dissimilar or non-acrylic/Plexiglas there is an optically clear epoxy called "Epoxy 330". We used it to mount the crystal tops onto opal slabs, making doublets & triplets. Very good stuff.
If you can't find the 330 locally, try: http://www.gemworld.com/Glue.asp

Thanks a lot for the the link, just looking for it around here!
will post some shots of the mods as soon as I attach them again, maybe it help all those who mount add on lenses to keep the port waterproof in case of bumps
cheers
