We use the MK25/S600 combo non-T editions and couldn't ask for much better performance. We did the same as you are doing - asked everyone if titanium was worth the difference. The answers we got were an overwhelming "no" to the necessity of titanium. Of course, if you do spring for the titanium setup, you can always leave them on your coffee table to impress your visitors when you're not diving.
