I'll give a plug for Herman, one of the Gurus here, he makes and sells some first stage tools for the older models at very reasonable prices which apparently make servicing a snap. I ordered some off him.

Herman's o-ring installation tools are well make and quite effective, but any diyer worth his salt can get that o-ring in place in no more that 10 or 15 minutes without them. Then buy the tool.

I cleaned up the faces using micro mesh, a tip awap posted sometime in the past. It worked quite well with the addition of toothpaste then vinegar and water.

I've always liked the look of G250.

How about S600, how difficult is it to rebuild?

More complex than a G250, more parts, but looking at schematics doesn't "look" that difficult.
